Why do golfers always carry two pairs of trousers with them?
…In case they had a hole in one.

All jokes aside, sometimes you get a Hole In One when you least expect it. That was true when former PGA Tour pro John Morgan sunk an ace at Cumberwell Park in Wiltshire, UK.  Ablrate, an investment company, was hosting a Par 3 shootout with a $100,000 main prize for a Hole In One. All 26 participants had taken a shot and missed.

Then comes Morgan- Just doing a warm down shot, Morgan decided to take a crack at the 170-yard par 3. No one was expecting him to actually make it, but he did! Watching the ball, his face turns from calm and relaxed to only what I can describe as one of pure amazement as the ball sails through the air. Taking a high bounce on the green it sinks right into the hole! Unfortunately, he wasn’t part of the contest and therefore ineligible for the grand prize. That definitely didn’t seem to dampen the enthusiasm and excitement shown by Morgan.

The Victory Lap

Realizing that he had indeed made a Hole In One, Morgan is lifted by one of the other golfers and spun around. He then proceeds to pick up a woman in a pink skirt and run towards the flag. After putting her down, he runs for the water and decides to take a swim before retrieving his ball from the hole. With a kiss he picks the ball up and holds it out in victory. Later, Ablrate decided to award Morgan with $1,000 even though he wasn’t in the contest.

Watching him celebrate his achievement was almost as exciting as seeing him make the shot. While John Morgan may not be in the PGA Tour this year there is no doubt that this Sky Sports commentator has still got it!

Still having a hard time believing it? He was too. After the event he simply tweeted “Crazy Stuff”. That’s why we love what we do.
